Fox Jaffna marked its 8th anniversary on 22 June with a series of meaningful celebrations reflecting its continued commitment to heritage hospitality, sustainability, and community engagement in the Northern Province.

Over the past eight years, Fox Jaffna has welcomed tens of thousands of guests from around the world, establishing itself as one of Sri Lanka’s most distinctive heritage luxury hotels. Rooted in Jaffna’s cultural identity and colonial-era architecture, the property continues to deliver immersive guest experiences that blend authenticity, comfort, and a strong sense of place.

The hotel’s excellence has been recognized through multiple accolades, including three consecutive wins as Best Heritage Hotel in South Asia at the South Asian Travel Awards, the Sri Lanka Tourism Award 2024, and the Northern Province Tourism Award for Best Accommodation Provider in Sri Lanka, further reinforcing its position as a leading name in responsible and experiential tourism.

This year’s anniversary celebrations began with a multi-religious ceremony, symbolizing unity, inclusivity, and respect for the cultural diversity of the region. This was followed by a staff appreciation lunch, honoring the dedication and contribution of the team behind Fox Jaffna’s continued success.

As part of its sustainability initiatives, eight mango trees were planted within the property—representing growth, renewal, and the deep agricultural and cultural connection of Jaffna. The celebrations also extended beyond the hotel, with the team visiting a nearby orphanage to share a meal and spend time with the children, reinforcing Fox Jaffna’s long-standing commitment to community care and social responsibility.

The event was graced by Mr. Suresh Srinivasan, Group CEO of the Capital Maharaja Group, and Mr. Chris Quyn, CEO of Fox Resorts, along with senior members of the Fox Resorts management team from Colombo and Kandy.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Suresh Srinivasan said:

“Fox Jaffna continues to be a powerful expression of Sri Lanka’s cultural richness and hospitality excellence. It is not just a destination, but a meaningful experience that brings together heritage, people, and purpose. We are proud of what it represents and the impact it continues to make in the Northern Province.”

Mr. Chris Quyn, CEO of Fox Resorts, added:

“Celebrating eight years of Fox Jaffna is a reflection of the journey we have taken with our team, our guests, and our community. From planting mango trees to engaging with children, these moments define our philosophy that hospitality must go beyond service—it must create lasting value.”

The Capital Maharaja Group, through Fox Resorts, continues to strengthen its presence in Sri Lanka’s hospitality sector with a focus on sustainable tourism, cultural preservation, and community-driven growth.
